This group would look into villages and slums that can be adopted to nurture and improve their quality of life. This is also part of the initiative to lift them out of poverty through self sustaining and honorable way of life.

 Background

* Scattered throughout India are approximately 500,000 villages. The Census of India regards most   settlements of fewer than 5,000 as a village. These settlements range from tiny hamlets of   thatched huts to larger settlements of tile-roofed stone and brick houses. Most Indian villages are   small; nearly 80 percent have fewer than 1,000 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.

* There are totally 707 villages with out school.

* We surveyed a village named Vayallur and to start with we arranged for a youngsters cricket   match on May 1st 2009.

* We Supported Irula tribe school students with books and also a medical terminally ill mother.

* We have been engaging students for cricket training for past 3 months on alternate Sundays.   The final event was a team tournament involving youngsters of the village.

* Supported a slum in Chennai during a relief program due to fire accident.

  Our Achievements

* We adopted a village named Vayallur and to start with we arranged for a youngsters cricket    match on May 1st 2009.

* Next we took up surveying to understand the village population distribution with respect to    income, health and educational on June 7th 2009.

* We Supported Irula tribe school students with books and also a medical terminally ill mother.

* We have been engaging students for cricket training for past 3 months on alternate Sundays.

* Women Empowerment thru SHG’s & Higher Education.

* Elderly Care Unit.

* Youth Development Force – Employment & Entrepreneurship.

* Health Care.

* Personality Development.

* Sports- involving youth.
