This team basically connects with all volunteers in and around Chennai and communicates the hospitals requirement for blood in cases of surgeries, transplant, blood transfusion and also treatment of blood related disorders.

 Demanding Back Ground

* We can substitute anything in this world except for human blood. Yes there is no substitution for    Human blood.
* Every year our nation requires about 4 Crore units of blood, out of which only a meager 40 Lakh    units of blood are available.

 Activites

* Primary task is creation of a communication and database tool for easier access of information and    also communicating the requirement to right set of people, this is being implemented through    Red Drops web site.

* Next to encourage people to voluntarily donate blood through regular blood camps.

 Our Achievements

* Conducted our first Blood donation camp in 2008 and organized for 40 units of blood with Dr.    MGR medical university, Guindy.

* Arranged and conducted a blood donation camp in 2009 with the collection of 106 units of blood    with VHS, Taramani.

* Our “reddrops.co.in “site has been an excellent tool in bridging the donors and the recipients,    there by easing the blood request transactions, currently there are 362 registered blood donors.

* Have successfully addressed 50 requests in the past 1 year-2009-10.

* Currently coordinating with college students for supporting blood requests.
