Nalanda is an active team of Chennai Social Service, working to provide basic education for all children in and around Chennai. We sponsor for education and also conduct coaching classes to improve standard of education..

* Most of the problem in the society is due to ignorance of people.
* To overcome this education is must.
* The over all rate of literacy of Tamil Nadu is 63.72%
* The rate of literacy of Chennai is around 85.3%

 Why The Name Nalanda

The word "Nalanda" is a sanskrit work which means "Giver of Knowledge". So one can easily guess why we selected this name to represent our team working towards a noble cause. And also Nalanda is the first and oldest university in India.

Our Motto

"Education For All" is our motto, with which we aim to build Chennai as a place of literacy. Our aim is to provide basic education for all children in and around Chennai especially for those who really cant afford for it.....

 Our Achievements

* Completed the last term of tutoring for Olcot school students in 2008.
* Sponsored 25 economically backward students a net amount of Rs.1,50,000 for their education.
* Madras Seva Sadan School had been adopted for tutoring students for 2 terms in 2008-09.
* We tutored in Saidapet Govt. School. For boys between 2009-10.
* Sponsored education for economically poor students from visually challenged to able bodied    person the details are as follows.
